Attorney Duties: Authoring of briefs for submission before the Board of Immigration Appeals and before the United States Court of Appeals; the authoring of motions for submission before the Board of Immigration Appeals; appearances at Master Calendar Hearings, Individual Hearings, and Custody Re-Determination Hearings before the Immigration Court; appearances at Asylum Officer Interviews, Adjustment of Status Interviews, Naturalization Interviews, and other appearances before the Citizenship and Immigration Services; preparation of family-based petitions, asylum applications, and naturalization applications; preparation of evidentiary submissions during deportation (removal) cases, such as exhibit lists; and, the preparation of client declarations. Extensive interaction with members of the immigrant community. Qualifications: Master s degree in law or JD degree. Must passed the Bar exam and admitted in NY/NJ. Immigration experience preferred. Relative law practice experience is preferred. Any law practice experience such as Real Estate, Civil Litigation, Criminal Defense, and Matrimonial is a plus. A strong background in both American and Chinese law. Knowledge of Chinese-American law is a plus. Must have a detailed approach to handling multiple projects and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision. Must be fluent in English and mandarin Chinese. Must have excellent writing and communication skills. Must have ability to handle high pressure and multi-functions. Analytical skills and basic knowledge of Chinese-U.S. law.
