Intellectual Property Paralegal - Patent Prosecution Duties: Assisting attorneys with preparation, prosecution, and filing of patent applications for our large and small clients. Facilitate invention disclosure meetings and other steps to facilitate the patent preparation and prosecution process, and coordinate with outside counsel for patent prosecution. Assist as needed with various tasks relating to operations, including IP budgeting, accruals and tracking / forecasting, and reporting on key metrics. Assist as needed with all IP area tasks, including open source compliance, copyright issues, and trademark searches and docketing functions. May assist with additional non-IP legal issues. Qualifications: Paralegal Certificate or Bachelor s or higher degree. Relevant, current patent prosecution experience required. Must have 3-5 years of patent prosecution experience with a law firm or as in-house counsel. Familiar with the intricacies of the IP asset management process. Detail-oriented. Excellent project management and organizational skills. Able to identify and track multiple tasks while meeting deadlines. Ability to make decisions independently. Interest in owning projects or responsibilities without continual oversight. Technically savvy. Interested in and able to learn, implement and manage new technologies and processes. Proficient with MS Office Suite Word, Excel, Power Point. Strong Analytical Skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and prioritize your work, with the judgment to identify and escalate potential blockers or concerns in a timely manner. Problem Solver.Ability to be creative and thoughtful in a quickly changing environment. Capacity to step back and question existing assumptions constructively. Strong sense of ethics and professionalism. Role requires compliance work, ability to maintain and protect Company confidential information. Excellent team-building skills and ability to work across groups and internationally in a positive, upbeat and professional manner. We enjoy our work and want to as well.
