Paralegal - Personal Injury The candidate will perform intake screening for potential new clients. Will set up insurance claims, draft initial letters of representation, send open records requests. Professionally interact with clients, adjusters, physicians' staff, opposing counsel, and court personnel. Communicate with clients regarding medical treatment, case status, settlement, etc. Request medical records and follow-up on requests. Assist attorneys in negotiating settlement of cases with insurance adjusters. Schedule doctor meetings, draft medical narratives and future care summaries. Draft demand letters, pleadings, discovery, motions, etc. File pleadings, discovery, motions, etc. (including e-filing). Schedule opposing party and doctor depositions. Trial Preparation. Prepare settlement distribution agreements, negotiate provider balances, and conduct lien searches. Manage health insurance subrogation process; request and analyze health plan documents. The candidate should preferably have two or four year college degree, paralegal college program. Must have 3-5 years of personal injury litigation experience. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Case management software experience - preferably Needles essential. Spanish speaking is a plus.
