Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal The candidate's duties include: Drafting petitions, motions, notices, designations, etc; Updating case information in case management software; Assisting with Minor Settlement/Friendly Suits; Calendaring and tracking all deadlines, and ensuring timely compliance with same; Monitor gathering of medical and billing records and review; Discuss options and settlement authority with clients pursuant to attorney direction and oversight; Prepare attorney for court proceedings including but not limited to hearings, depositions, trials; Research causes of action, party identity, etc; Using Westlaw, Lexis/Nexus, Public Data, Texas SOS, and other electronic research systems; Working with clients to prepare draft responses to discovery; draft "service ready" responses for attorney review; E-filing in state and federal courts; Perform lien searches; Review and preparation of releases and settlement disbursement documents; Client interaction including review of discovery, deposition preparation, etc. High School Diploma required. Moderate to heavy Plaintiff Personal Injury litigation experience (i.e. car/truck accident) required. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, must be able to multi-task and work under pressure, Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook required. Experience with case management software (Needles, etc) required. Paralegal Certification required. Federal Court Experience/ E-Filing a plus. Bilingual (English/ Spanish) required. Notary required. 2+ years of Plaintiff Personal Injury litigation experience required. Should be an experienced Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal.
