Legal Assistant / Paralegal - Creditors' Rights The candidate will prepares routine or complex legal documents for review by attorneys. Reviews, organizes and summarizes reports and other case materials. Drafts pleadings, subpoenas, discovery requests and responses, correspondence, interrogatories/answers, notices of examination under oath, and other legal documents. Assists in deposition preparation, pre-trial investigations, trial preparation, including assistance with preparation of witnesses for deposition and/or trial. Prepares depositions and trial binders. Prepare exhibits and other demonstrative evidence for use at trial. Drafts settlement agreements. Provide assistance at trial. Must have prior experience, exceptional organizational, written and oral communication skills are required. Some typical duties may include the following: Preparing and editing legal documents, e-filing, scheduling hearings and depositions (including coordinating with the Court and opposing counsel), and drafting discovery. Should be familiar with analyzing claim files and records, preparing for hearings, preparing exhibits, pleadings, and discovery, handling case management, file organization, investigations; research and trial support and have knowledge in litigation software programs.
