Litigation/Transaction Legal Secretary The candidate will transcribe and proofread legal documents and correspondence. Accurately file/e-file documents with the various court ahead of deadlines. Process third party and vendor invoices. Arrange travel arrangements for attorneys. File, organize, scan, copy and fax legal documents in a timely manner. Answer phone calls, take notes/messages and redirect calls when appropriate. Schedule court depositions, hearings, and other meetings. Facilitate the meeting of deadlines by calendaring, keeping agendas and provide timely reminders. Input attorney time into billing software. Maintain and update inventories of case/client contact details. 3-10 years' experience as a paralegal or litigation/transaction legal secretary required. Familiarity with legal documents and terminology required. Working knowledge of litigation management software systems a plus. Ability to type with a speed of at least 50 wpm with high accuracy required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) programs, and ability to work with legal technology (court-filing systems, Olympus dictation software, etc.) required. Superior written and oral communication skills required. Knowledge of court local rules and procedures, and have excellent organizational, transcription and communication skills (both written and verbal), including spelling, grammar and proofreading required.
