Paralegal Administrative Assistant Responsibilities: Provide support to paralegals and attorneys in the Community Association Practice Group. Maintain positive professional contact with clients and court officials. Bill time according to fee schedule policy and uses proper task codes for billing. Maintain filing and scanning on a regular weekly basis. Travel to courthouse to pick up/drop off documents when necessary; review service information on cases pending in court, prepare list of court service for paralegal for use in docket preparation and copy all related paperwork including but not limited to praecipes, affidavits, and garnishment dispositions. Handle tasks assigned by paralegal including opening case files, drafting correspondence, preparing documents for delivery to court, entering lien/release recordation information in to Collection Manager Program (CM), proofreading, scanning, requesting checks for filings etc. Assist with closing file. Provide coverage of front desk (when necessary on a rotating basis). Must be able to lift, on occasion, boxes with files and records. Follow and comply with ethical and legal standards including applicable rules and laws such as Rules of Professional Conduct of the State, The Fair Debt Collections Practices Act and Fair Credit Reporting Act. Assist with overall office support and other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Proficient use and utilization of computer software including Microsoft Office Suite; and operation of standard office equipment including personal computer, printers, copiers, typewriter, facsimile, and telephone equipment. Must be able to complete designated tasks within specified time limits; organization and multi-tasking a must. Must be dependable and take direction well. Must have reliable transportation as periodical trips to the courthouse are required. 1 to 2 years of experience in a professional work environment preferably in a law firm. Bachelor's degree preferred.
