Paralegal - Civil Litigation Defense The candidate's responsibilities include: review and summary of new case files; gathering records and other discovery via subpoenas, authorizations, social media etc; tracking, organization and preparation of discovery materials going to counsel, experts and other witnesses; assisting attorneys with trial preparation; legal research and other functions as required. Will also include the service of Guardianship notices to patients in local facilities. Demonstrated experience following the legal process in the preparation and service of Subpoenas in the DC, MD and VA jurisdictions is essential. Experience with foreign subpoena preparation is a plus. Should have 2-5 years of experience to join growing team in the DC office. Experience working with attorneys defending matters of Employment Law, Insurance Defense, Transportation, Construction Defect and other areas of Civil Defense is preferred. A strong working knowledge of Civil Court processes in DC, Maryland and Virginia is required.
