Staff Attorney Supervisor The candidate will be resolving personnel problems, up to and including taking disciplinary action and terminating employees. The Staff Attorney Supervisor is responsible for assisting with the management of the Staff Attorney Program and supervision of all Staff Attorney Department personnel. The aspect of management upon which the Staff Attorney Supervisor would most focus on includes orientation, training, and technology implementation. In addition, the Staff Attorney Supervisor would actively participate in the daily administration of the Staff Attorney Department. Should have 5+ years of document review supervisory experience in an AMLAW 100 or 200 law firm setting working on large litigation, regulatory, or investigation matters. Current good standing in the DC Bar. Excellent organizational aptitude, interpersonal skills, project coordination ability, and a strong service focus. Must be highly organized and detail oriented. Excellent management and communications skills. Must be comfortable delegating tasks, managing teams, and providing leadership. Monitoring and managing productivity and resource availability. Reviewing and approving billable hours. Maintaining administrative records, such as attendance and vacation. Participating in yearly salary reviews and evaluations, as well as providing regular feedback and constructive criticism. Supervising and coordinating document review teams to ensure that all team members are working efficiently and meeting quality and output expectations established by the case teams. Facilitating the communication between the document review team and the Associates and Partners responsible for case. Working with the Firms Litigation Support group and/or e-discovery vendors to communicate and resolve end-user problems with the document databases and review systems in use. Good working knowledge of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model, and how document review fits into overall discovery processes. Preparing departmental statistical reports. Coordinating with Human Resources for the recruitment of Staff Attorneys. Assisting with long-range planning and needs assessment for staffing. Significant experience with on-line. Performing other duties as directed by the Staff document review systems such as Attorney Manager or Firm management. Experience to include searching, batching. A J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school or the equivalent is required.
