Complex Business Litigation Paralegal The candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-placed environment, interacting with clients, and handling many roles and intricate matters simultaneously, for a firm well known for taking cases to trial far more often than most. Paralegals are a vital part of team and a tremendous resource for attorneys. An Associate Degree required, Bachelors Degree preferred, ABA Paralegal Certification highly preferred, however, incredible experience and professional competency is acceptable in lieu of education. Except for High School, you really should have at least finished that. Must have experience scheduling hearings, depositions, mediations, conferences, examinations. Should have experience with the preparation of notices, pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and discovery in state and federal court matters and arbitration proceedings. Experience with the review and analysis of discovery (including traditional and e- discovery) is required. Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of legal concepts, processes, terms, and procedures; Thorough knowledge of Florida and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure; Thorough knowledge of the litigation process; Thorough knowledge of court procedures, including Florida E-Filing (ECF); Comfort with electronic filing in State and Federal courts, calendaring, and accurate proofreading. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products, and the ability to type quick and accurately is required.
