Legal Assistant / Legal Secretary, Real Estate Duties: Play an essential role in enhancing the effectiveness of the attorneys in the group by performing a variety of tasks and duties such drafting and formatting letters, proofing and finalizing legal documents primarily related to the acquisition, ownership and development of real property; managing calendars for meetings and transaction deadlines; and organize and maintain physical and electronic files. Develops and maintains an understanding of individual client preferences and requests. Prioritize and manage requests from multiple attorneys. take necessary direction from them, and from there you work independently with little or no supervision. Qualifications: Two-year degree or equivalent work experience. 2+ years of experience working as a legal assistant preferred. Experience in real estate transactions including sales, purchase and leasing would be a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office software programs such as Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Working knowledge of Adobe. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Highly organized with a strong attention to detail. Ability to take direction and work independently with little or no supervision. Ability to keep and maintain confidential information regarding clients and firm issues. Strong aptitude for learning and the ability to quickly grasp firm specific software. Proficient typist. Familiarity searching state websites related to the existence and status of legal entities preferred. Familiarity searching county websites related to recorded documents and real property taxes preferred.
