Paralegal (Litigation) Responsibilities: In Transportation Practice Group. Review and summarize medical records and medical billing records. Work with and coordinate expert witnesses to facilitate their opinions and testimony. Prepare pleadings, certain motion documents, petitions, settlement agreements, and other correspondence. Draft declarations, written discovery, discovery outlines. Prepare/manage subpoenas and deposition notices and scheduling. Manage case files, including importing electronic files into Eclipse and other document management software, prepare document productions. Perform administrative support functions, such scanning documents, e-mailing documents to clients, and the bankruptcy trustees, etc. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or a Paralegal Certificate preferred. 3+ years of litigation experience. Knowledge of civil procedure in both state and federal court, including rules of court and local rules and procedures for filing and lodging documents as well as filing deadlines. Strong administrative skills and attention to detail. Professional appearance and professional communication with clients and co-workers. Experience with iManage, Compulaw, Forms Workflow, Westlaw, and/or other comparable programs is a must.
