Paralegal Assistant Duties: Recording documents in the Circuit Court: Ex. VA/MD- Liens/Lien Releases o Prince William Docket Judgments/Release Judgments. Any misc. amendments/deeds/declarations, etc. E-filing documents in the MD District Court. Sending out/filing documents with the VA/MD Courts that we cannot e-file/record online. Coordinating service of legal documents with private process server. Preparing checks for manual court filings. Trips to Maryland courts (as needed). Sending payment memos to our clients. Requesting/Pulling Statements of Account for Paralegal/Attorney. Maintaining filing and file cabinets. Scanning documents into Collectmax. Sending documents to client for signature. Calling clerks at the court for case information/service information/questions attorneys have. Making file folders for new accounts. Prepping boxes to be closed. Bring mail downstairs to send out. Other duties as assigned. Assist Paralegals in the preparing of basic court documents/letters. Ex. Closed file letters, notice of satisfaction, release judgments, lien releases. Assist Paralegal in opening new accounts along with related searches. Pacer/Accurint Searches. DOD searches. Qualifications: College degree preferred; High School diploma or GED required. 1-3 years of experience in a professional environment; law firm preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Ability to conduct daily tasks with minimal supervision and guidance. Detail oriented, Strong organization, project management, and multi-tasking skills. High level of confidentiality required. Ability and willingness to learn to use software specific to this business.
