Senior Paralegal The candidate will prepare, review, analyze, index, verify and organize documents and other materials required in connection with trusts and estate matters. Will provide clear and complete work direction to clerks and other support staff as necessary to accomplish responsibilities related to client matters. Will estate and trust administration: collection and valuation of assets, preparation of estate tax returns, coordinate distributions and funding of trusts, prepare and review annual gift tax returns. Preparation of estate planning documents: wills, trusts, powers of attorney and health care directives. Will assist families with business succession planning, estate plan implementation and estate and trust litigation matters. Responsible for special projects and other duties, as assigned. Billing expectation of 1550 billed hours annually.
The candidate should have previous trusts & estates experience preferred. Should have experience in using a variety of computer software products, preferably in a Windows environment. Must have ability to work well independently and as part of a team. Must have ability to use good judgment in taking initiative and proceeding on a project or getting direction or clarification. Must have ability to accommodate an occasional need for flexibility in work day hours, depending on demands of work load.
