Associate Attorney - Business Litigation Responsibilities: Identify legal claims, structure petitions and complaints to match the facts of the case to legal elements of the claim. Perform detailed legal research and writing as required to advise the AIC (Attorney in Charge) of best options to prosecute or defend a claim. Draft trial memos and updates to trial strategy documents as discovery is conducted. Prepare deposition outlines, based on documents produced in discovery and elements of claims and defenses; prepare deposition summaries; and identify discovery for use in summary judgment and trial proceedings. Review and analyze financial statements, such as bank statements, P & Ls, Balance Sheets, and corporate agreements, and vesting schedules, and prepare spreadsheets and analysis regarding same on Excel, etc. Work with trial presentation software such as Trial Director, Power Point, etc. for mediations and trial. Familiarity with federal and state procedural rules, rules of evidence., ability to determine how evidence will be admissible at trial or arbitration. Maintain weekly net billables, after edits and write downs, of 40 hours per week to clients. Qualifications: 2+ years' experience in litigation. Must have been involved in a jury trial. Have a desire to research legal issues, and structure pleadings, exhibits, and trial presentation materials to match elements to evidence obtained through discovery. Expect to work late hours and some weekends, especially around trial time.
