Real Estate Paralegal The candidate will assists attorneys in Real Estate practice group in connection with commercial finance, mergers and acquisitions, financial work-outs and restructuring, leasing, commercial and residential real estate development as well as real estate matters in other practice groups. In addition to assisting with closings assists attorney with general correspondence, custom documents and administrative matters. Draft purchase and sale agreements, deeds, affidavits, notes, mortgages, UCC financing statements, easements and other related real estate documents in preparation of closings. Review purchase and sale agreements for preparation of time schedules and closing checklists. Facilitate, tracking and satisfaction of due diligence requirements for seller and purchaser clients. Consult with title companies, survey firms, property inspectors and environmental consultants. Contact various governmental offices to obtain information, including real estate ownership, taxes and zoning. Conduct public record searches. Review and summarize title commitments, title policies, lien search reports, inspection reports, surveys and phase one environmental reports. Facilitate details of closing transactions with various parties to ensure documents are organized, complete and accurate. Set up, attend and assist with closings. Review and prepare closing statements. Coordinate in all aspects of a variety of transactions. Coordinate recording and filing documents in state and local offices. Prepare closing binders. Review, summarize and prepare leases. Assist with the review of loan documents. Assist with providing back-up information for opinion letters. Assist with drafting complaints to lower real estate taxes. Keep clients informed of status of transaction(s). Prepare corporate filings. Prepare corporate resolutions. Maintain corporate minute books. Complete all other assignments as required. Bachelor's degree in an ABA approved Paralegal program is required. Should have 3-5 years of experience in real estate law or financing practice.
