Entry- Level Legal Secretary Trainee & Support Clerk RESPONSIBILITIES: Attend training sessions. Assist secretaries with assigned tasks which may include organizing files, preparing binders; completing administrative tasks; entering attorney time; other projects as assigned. As skills build, cover desks for secretaries when they are out. Copy / reproduction of legal documents (photocopying, printing, and scanning); handling of such documents as requested (for example, placing documents into notebooks and/or numbering); maintain copy machines. Incoming and outgoing mail, overnight deliveries; receipt and delivery of faxes. Set up conference rooms; stock with supplies. Answer the phones and close phones daily; greet and assist clients. Support secretaries and paralegals with filing and various projects. Assist marketing department with large mailing projects; some research may be requested. Accounting Related Projects Help with mailing and scanning of statements; photocopying checks; other accounting tasks. QUALIFICATIONS: GED or High School Diploma, Bachelor's degree preferred. Legal experience preferred. Customer service background. High degree of attention to detail. Ability to accurately type 60+ wpm. Experience with Microsoft Office products is required. Ability and willingness to learn new programs and program updates. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work in a team-oriented, service focused environment and to handle stressful situations in calm, composed manner. Ability to communicate by telephone in a professional, courteous manner. Ability to prioritize tasks and to complete projects with minimal supervision. Ability to follow client confidentiality guidelines.
