Senior Paralegal I Duties : The candidate will assist the Attorneys with the management of corporate immigration cases and client interactions. Will be related to legal document preparation and management, research and case management which requires knowledge of the legal system, terminology and procedures in addition to clerical and administrative skills. Will demonstrate ability to work independently. Demonstrate ability to manage a high caseload and work within strict timelines. Coordinating the preparation of immigration packets. Providing excellent client service and serving as clients . Regularly evaluate cases and provide case strategies and/or solutions to issues. May provide training and guidance for HR contacts regarding company systems and general immigration matters. May be responsible for managing various corporate clients; serve as a point of contact for the company contact and manager areas of expertise. Serve as a resource and often provide training and guidance and to Attorneys and legal staff in areas of expertise. Participate in projects and/or committees as related to the area of expertise and to the practice area. Assist with setting companies policies/procedures/protocols in areas of expertise. May write and prepare materials to be used internally and possibly externally. Drafting applications and supporting documentation for filing with government agencies. Monitor the status of all filed applications and petitions. Will work with clients to obtain documents and information necessary to prepare applications. Drafts support statements and organizes documentations for filling. Files and monitors applications and petitions with appropriate government agencies. Performs research to obtain information such as background on a company or industry, current wages, processing procedures, stand processing times, etc. Initiates contact with government officials to obtain necessary information to alert supervising attorney of potential delays or possible problems in the processing of an application. Requirements : The candidate should have Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Must have 3 years of progressive experience as a Paralegal or demonstrated ability to perform the functions. Should have demonstrated mastery of Paralegal skills. Proven ability to handle a high volume of cases. Proven ability to become thoroughly proficient in handling complex, challenging, and VIP cases. Proven ability to manage corporate clients as it relates to area of specialization. Comprehensive knowledge of Team practice. Ability to quickly absorb, learn and become skilled at a variety of legal work. Able and willing to share knowledge with others and effectively communicate policies/procedures/protocols to all. Capable of highly independent work.
