Litigation Practice Assistant/Legal Secretary The candidate: prepares legal documents and correspondence from draft or dictated text. Maintains client and firm files; opens and closes files according to Records Department procedures. Manages attorneys calendars, coordinates meetings, schedules conference rooms, and makes travel arrangements as required. Assists with billing process to include entering attorney time, reviewing pro formas (initiates transfers), editing and preparing draft/final bills and cover letters for clients. Prepares forms for expense reports, check requests, reprographic services, etc. Opens, prioritizes and distributes mail. Coordinates mailing, deliveries, and copying. The candidate should have high school diploma or GED or and two years of litigation legal experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and Elite (or other comparable time entry software). Knowledge of and experience in federal and state courts, to include preparation of court filings is a plus.
