Associate Attorney The candidate will join law office specializing in Real Estate, Business, Litigation, Trusts, Wills and Probate. Will be handling own case load, and will be responsible for: (a) case planning, development, and management; (b) legal research; (c) clients interviews, facts gathering and information retrieveing; (d) drafting and analyzing legal documents, including discovery; (e) making court appearances throughout the San Francisco Bay Area; (f) obtaining/transferring governmental licenses and permits; and (g) zealously advocating for the firm's clients in the following areas of law: Review title reports and other closing documentation, draft escrow agreements, pre and post occupancy agreements, notes and mortgages, title objection letters, lis pendens, assignments, notes and mortgages, deeds, residential and commercial sale and lease contracts, land trusts, quiet title documents, deed-in-lieu and short sale negotiations, lease option/purchase agreements, estoppel letters, residential and commercial eviction documents, and other similarly situated real estate documentation. Knowledge and familiarity with San Francisco real estate issue, including, but not limited to rent control laws and just cause evictions. Drafting operating agreements, bylaws, shared equity agreements, purchase and sales of businesses, security agreements, U.C.C. documentation, bills of sale, settlement agreements, releases and hold harmless agreements. All aspects of civil litigation from initial consultation, pleading drafting, motion practice, discovery, and final disposition. Drafting basic trusts, wills, estate planning documents and/or practice in California Probate law including summary and formal administration of estates. The candidate must be Licensed to practice law in California. Must have accomplished computer keyboarding skills. Must have 3+ years of practice of law or equivalent experience in any one of the areas of law above. Must have substantial knowledge of principles, concepts and methodology of legal proceedings and legal research. Substantial experience in filling out governmental, court, and corporate forms is required. Experience with Westlaw and/or other computerized legal research systems is required.
