Legal Secretary/Legal Assistant Responsibilities: Enhances attorney effectiveness by providing information-case management support; representing the attorney to clients and others. Provides support to attorney s litigation team. Greets guests and clients (in person or by telephone); answering or directing calls and inquiries. Responsible for the processing of all new files for the attorney. Maintains attorney calendar by planning and scheduling teleconferences, meetings, and all court appearances; recording and monitoring court appearance dates, pleadings, and filing requirements; monitoring changes in litigation or transaction preparation requirements. Maintains litigation files and tracking reports/lists. Prepares general pleadings, files documents with the courts. Prepares correspondence, copies and mailings for attorney and others; Drafts letters and documents from dictation or forms. Maintains and processes incoming mail, routing correspondence, reports and legal documents. Organizes conferences, attorney meetings; schedules couriers; coordinates preparation of documents and projects. Produces information by formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, scanning, copying, and transmitting data, and graphics; coordinating case preparation with others. Represents attorney by communicating and obtaining information; following-up on delegated assignments; knowing when to act and when to refer matters to attorney and other staff. Handles and monitors monthly payments from various sources; documents payment information. Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Maintains client confidence by keeping client/attorney information confidential. Accepts opportunities for new tasks and enhanced responsibilities. Qualifications: 1+ years' experience in similar setting, Spanish bi-lingual preferred, Strong Organization, Coordinating and Telephone Skills, Good Communication Skills, Flexibility, Dependability, Professionalism, Knowledge of Outlook helpful, and must work well with others.
