Litigation paralegal The Candidate will be responsible to assist attorneys in preparation for hearings and trials. Assist in preparing legal documents such as legal arguments, motions, contracts, and agreements. E-file documents in state and federal court. Case file management (create, organize, track and maintain files; monitor calendars and meeting deadlines; document actions; input information into file database and case management software). Personal injury case management (schedule IMEs, compile and analyze medical records, draft paid/incurred charts, draft medical chronologies, etc.) Help develop cases by maintaining contact with people involved in the case, scheduling depositions, assisting with discovery requests and responses, and preparing and filing pleadings. Document management including but not limited to review of documents, proofreading, bates labeling, organization of documents and compiling information for discovery responses, pleadings, and motions. Perform factual research and investigation, including social media research and setting up surveillance. Review documents for content and privilege; compile privilege logs. Draft correspondence and memoranda for attorneys as requested, including power point presentations. Utilize computer databases to organize, store and access information; conduct moderately complex research on LEXIS, Westlaw and other online computer assisted research databases. Trial preparation and attendance at trial (organizing evidence, preparing exhibits, scheduling witnesses, ensuring that witnesses are ready when needed). Case management, including advanced working knowledge of E-discovery, including the technical aspects of collecting, reviewing, and producing electronically stored information (state and federal court). Proficiency in Relativity, LiveNote, Case/Time Map, Summation, Adobe Acrobat, and Trial Director preferred. The candidate should have a four year Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate is required. Must have 3+ years of experience with strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Trial experience required. Experience handling personal injury and complex commercial matters preferred. Comfortable prioritizing and balancing a variety of tasks.
