Legal Secretary Responsibilities: Communicating with clients, governmental agencies and courts. Document review and editing, which may include trial preparation. Assembling evidence binders and exhibits. Assisting with compliance of court rules. Preparing and processing bills for clients and courts; Managing client trust funds and expenses. Database management, including updating office files. Updating dockets and client files. Preparing correspondence and packages for delivery. The candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in previous experience in an administrative environment, legal preferred. Should be well organized, professional, reliable, flexible and extremely detail-oriented. Should possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and also have proven editing and proofreading skills. Good computer skills and ability to work independently is important. Experience with Timeslips and billing government agencies is preferred. A positive attitude and respect for criminal defendants are also necessary.
