Financial Services Staff Attorney The candidate will assist consumer financial services group with state and federal regulatory compliance and licensing matters related to mortgage regulation, lending, consumer credit and lease products, general consumer protection, money transmission, and payment processing. Will coordinate financial services licensing applications, including both NMLS and non-NMLS applications. Interface with state regulators. Track pending state and federal legislative, regulatory, and rulemaking activities. Monitor state and federal enforcement activity and private actions. Draft articles and other publications regarding legal developments affecting financial services.
The candidate should have a J.D. degree. Must have 2+ years of experience in law firm setting. Experience with legal or regulatory filings is required. Prior experience in financial services practice is preferred. Experience in managing financial services license applications, including use of the NMLS system is desired. License to practice in the District of Columbia or ability to waive-in is needed.
