Paralegal/Legal Assistant The candidate will be working with and reporting to the Managing Partner, the legal assistant will be responsible for a wide variety of duties, including maintaining and managing a professional environment that supports the a successful law practice and business consultancy. This is truly a great opportunity for a very organized individual who is able to keep things in order and wants to be a part of diverse projects all over the world. This position is also a great opportunity for someone who just received their paralegal certificate and wants hands on one-to-one experience and not simply be a number in a big office setting. Supporting attorney by assisting with the administration and management of workflow. Compile, proofread and edit drafts of contracts, leases, licenses, policies and other legal documents. Provide general support to visitors and respond to client inquiries, Ensure filing systems are maintained and current, Maintain office by organizing and improving office operations and procedures, Interact professionally with all team members of the firm, Point person for maintenance, mailing, shipping, supplies, equipment, bills and errands Organize and schedule meetings and appointments, Uphold and improve office operations and procedures, Attend and participate in meetings, Manage relationships with vendors, service providers, and clients, ensuring that all items are invoiced and paid on time, Lead assigned projects and keep the Managing Partner informed and up to date, 2+ years experience in support of a corporate lawyer and overall operational management of a law firm are required. Associates degree of Bachelor's degree, with an interest in business or related field. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and research skills, Ability to understand and interpret legal documents, Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, Bi-lingual is an asset, Familiarity with Mac as we are an Apple technology office, Proficient in Microsoft Office, and willing to learn additional sites such as Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw and Clio are required. Able to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple, detailed tasks are required.
