Legal Secretary - Corporate Candidate will assist in all aspects of the transactional practice including the preparation of various transactional documents, signature page packets, minute books, and stock certificates. Provide day to day legal support to attorneys, including maintaining client files. Assist with process time entry, open new matters, draft engagement letters and audit responses, process reimbursement expenses, maintain calendars, review and prepare billing invoices, and other administrative duties. Demonstrate excellent judgment to determine priority level of daily work to ensure that high priority items are completed in a timely manner. Create and revise client documents, spreadsheets and forms from drafts, originals or dictation. Build and maintain corporate minute books. Organize and coordinate meetings, conferences, and travel arrangements. Answer and screen telephone calls for work group, providing excellent client service. Prepare and submit conflicts check forms, screening forms, and new matter request forms. Provide support and assist other secretaries with work overflow as needed.
Qualifications: High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. 4+ years of Corporate Legal Secretary experience working in a large law firm or similar setting. Accurate typing skills of 50 wpm. Strong communication skills and capable of initiating, drafting, editing and finalizing correspondence. Ability to multi-task in a highly demanding environment with tight time frames. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat, including Excel spreadsheets and document handling. Must have a deep understanding of corporate transactional practice.
