Paralegal Supervisor The candidate will provide assistance with firm procedures and case administrative procedures on a determined basis. Work cohesively with team members and attorneys to provide efficient support of administrative tasks and superior service. Responsible for hiring, supervising, evaluating, overall training, and professional development of the paralegals and support staff. Meet and discuss departmental information with management, department supervising attorneys and other department supervisors as needed. Responsible for accurate and honest completion of employee annual appraisal forms in a timely manner. With guidance of Administration find workable solutions to personnel issues relating to attendance, work quality, productivity, transfer requests and interdepartmental conflicts. With guidance of Administration document violations of company policy and/or any corrective action necessary. Work with Senior Staff Recruiter on the recruitment of new positions or replacements within the departments. Ensure new hire and transfer reviews are conducted on schedule. Responsible for even workflow coordination within the Departments. Monitor workload weekly and discuss with Paralegals. Review individual billable hour data with Paralegals. Oversee litigation calendaring functions. Ensure Calendaring Department continually updates individual case calendars in a timely manner. Oversee deactivation and destruction of litigation files in accordance with firm policy. Maintain and update department manuals. Coordinate departmental staffing and PTO leaves. Complete annual departmental budget information. Assist designated partner with agenda and meeting minutes for monthly meetings, as needed. Assist with hotel and vendor contracts in preparation of trials and hearings. Coordinate with outside vendors regarding annual contract renewals, new products and training. Perform miscellaneous duties as required. Bachelor s degree required and paralegal certificate from an American Bar Association (ABA) approval program is preferred. Should preferably have 5+ years of progressive Intellectual Property experience in patent, trademark and international practices. Supervisory experience a plus. Must communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
