Immigration Paralegal The candidate will assist in handling a large portion of immigration matters, specifically the preparation and filing of employment- based, non-immigrant and immigrant visa applications. compile and maintain various immigration status reports. Prepare employment-based immigration petitions with minimal assistance and supervision. Work directly with team of attorneys and partners to ensure the highest quality of legal representation for our clients. Support attorneys in preparation of business immigration filings (including PERM, L-1, H-1B, H-2A, H-2B, TN, O-1, E-2, and J-1 Visa Waiver). Manage case load in a fast-paced environment, including document review, preparation and filing of immigrant petitions with USCIS, NVC and DOS. Provide instruction and guidance to clients and foreign nationals on immigration practices and procedures. Assist with any problems that may arise relative to a foreign national's immigration status. Prepare monthly status expiration reports and update immigration tracking system. Evaluate issues for escalation as needed. Should preferably have a High school diploma or equivalent or a College degree and/or paralegal certificate, 1+ years of experience as a Paralegal or 3-5 years of immigration paralegal experience. Must exhibit a high level of customer service and show support for the Firm's culture and values as they relate to customer service. 1+ years of experience is using Microsoft Office is needed. In-depth knowledge of immigration law, including experience with each visa type mentioned above is necessary. Familiarity with nonimmigrant visas, permanent residency, employment application processes, and Naturalization applications is desired. Highly experienced individual in research, handling and processing of immigration-related cases is preferred. Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational and communication (oral and written) skills is desired. Strong skills in working on multiple projects is ideal. Ability to work with clients to navigate various government agencies and conduct client intake is ideal.
