Patent Paralegal The candidate will support one partner and associates with various aspects of US prosecution. Review and maintain docket report. US provisional and non-provisional applications (both e-filing and paper filing knowledge/experience). Preparation of signature documents, responses to missing parts, responses to restrictions, responses notice of non-compliant amendments/appeals, etc. Must understand the assignment process and rules (3.73b forms). Must understand Publication process and procedures- especially where foreign filings after US apps are concerned. Must be proficient in IDS rules and procedures (i.e., Possibly Related Cases case ruling and implications). Must have strong foreign skills/knowledge. PCT filings and process (both e-filing and paper filing knowledge/experience). National Phase filings and process. Must demonstrate strong English skills (both verbal and written). Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively their ideas, questions, etc. to USPTO personnel, foreign associates, clients, co-workers, etc. Must be willing to review docketing to confirm deadlines, etc. Experience with Patricia (PATRIX) docketing system a plus. Trademark experience is a plus. TM application filing (US and Foreign). TM prosecution, rules, procedures. TM post registration processes and requirements. Should have 5+ years of experience in an IP law firm. Must have strong US patent prosecution and post issuance skills/knowledge. Must have complete understanding of ALL potential malpractice deadlines.
