Commercial Real Estate Paralegal The candidate will prepare commercial files for the closing to include reviewing title exceptions, tracking due diligence activities, preparation/review of sale and loan documents, preparing closing checklists and scheduling transaction progress, completing post-closing filing and title policies, and overall support to commercial real estate group. Report to the Administrative Manager. The administrative Manager reports to the COO. Coordinate and actively participate in the disposition closing process from the time of approval through the sale, working with Tenants, Brokers, Buyers, Outside Legal Counsel, and others. Order and reviews title addresses any concerns and prepares necessary commitments, policies, and endorsements for closing. Work with Tenants on estoppel and lease-related documents and other deal-specific items needed for closing. Work with Outside Legal Counsel, Buyers, and Brokers on drafting legal documents such as Deeds, Affidavits, Closing Statements, etc. necessary for closing. Responsible for the receipt and disbursement of closing funds, balancing accounting ledgers, and maintaining file organization according to firm policies and procedures. Maintain detailed paper and electronic documentation for audit compliance. Appreciation and respect for Client confidentiality. Willingness to participate in the system-focused workflow process in which one of many links. Express thoughts clearly and concisely through written and verbal communication. Cooperate with other staff. Show enthusiasm for the job and project a positive attitude. Exhibit a strong work ethic. Express team spirit and cooperation by regularly participating in staff conferences, and sharing ideas among all co-workers, leaders, and specialists. Exhibit the utmost respect for financial controls governed by multiple public and private sources and internal firm policies and procedures respecting proper file handling. Other tasks as assigned by the firm to accomplish the mission of providing its clients with courteous and efficient service. The candidate must have a High school diploma or equivalent degree with previous experience in commercial real estate, banking, insurance, compliance, or accountancy required; Real estate software experience such as SoftPro, Closers Choice, Qualia required; basic skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel; valid driver's license required; pass of a criminal background check; attention to detail; excellent wrote and verbal communication skills. Must be able to balance accounting ledgers and have a basic understanding of sound accounting practices in accordance with Federal and State laws as well as internal firm policies and procedures.
