Business Litigation Paralegal The candidate will collect, organize and maintain form files, including model pleadings, motions, and checklists. Review legal periodicals and material relevant to a specialty area of law and reports or circulates pertinent facts to appropriate attorney(s). Track and report any pending legislation and/or case law(s) that may affect clients. Maintain litigation docket, calendar, or tickler system, noting deadline dates for responsive pleadings/motions, court appearances, and other important deadlines. Prepare literature and materials for attorneys about antitrust compliance programs for clients. Possess a willingness to learn the firm's standards to efficiently roadmap and track the following for their team: preliminary investigation, initiation of action, discovery, document production, deposition, briefing, settlement, trial and post-trial. Coordinate with other professionals and client to obtain and analyze due diligence materials in preparation of exhibits and documents to be included as part of the filing material. Assist with discovery, including electronic discovery (eDiscovery), including file document organization, management, collection, and production in electronic databases. Research validity of cases and statutes, and provides summary to attorneys. Specials projects and other duties, as assigned. Bachelor's Degree and/or paralegal certification or certification recent college graduate to 3+ years of paraprofessional experience. Previous law firm experience with litigation background at the federal and state level is preferred. Experience in CM/ECF or local e-filing processes is a preferred. Certification by the NALA or NFPA is preferred.
