Paralegal Duties: Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures provides legal/general support to the firm s attorneys and their clients. Direct contact with firm s trademark prosecution clients, as well as foreign associates. Assisting IP attorneys in servicing client s Intellectual Property matters including, maintaining prosecution docket, preparing and recording assignments for trademarks, and copyrights, interacting with clients with respect to reporting of Office Actions and maintaining intellectual property status charts on a regular basis. Assist with ordering trademark clearance reports, trademark searches, IP due diligence, including performing searches to confirm or identify record ownership of trademarks, copyrights, and domain names, as well as identifying security interests on the IP. Observes confidentiality of client and firm matters. Requirements: College degree or a paralegal certificate or equivalent IP experience required. General office skills required. Seven to ten years of prior IP practice experience, with particular experience with trademark prosecution and portfolio management. Excellent organizational skills. Must be extremely detail oriented. Effective oral and written skills. Be well-organized and detail-oriented; Experience in the filing and maintaining a docket for domestic and foreign trademarks, trademark applications, and office action responses; Experience with process and procedures at the TTAB; Significant experience with trademark portfolio management; Ability to work independently, address problems and make continuous process improvements; Ability to conduct searches on trademark, domain name, copyright databases; Familiarity with Saegis and Corsearch IP databases is a plus; Experience with IP due diligence work; Familiarity with PATTSY docketing system; Ensure that all relevant due dates are being met by the group; Ability to take the lead on client interactions on administrative matters; Experience working with foreign associates; and Other administrative duties within IP department, as assigned. Strong experience in trademark prosecution matters required, and particular knowledge of USPTO, and WIPO procedures required. Must be familiar with and observe the firm s established policies and guidelines. Must maintain positive contact with attorneys (both the firm s and outside counsel), support staff, clients and vendors.
