Paralegal - Corporate Restructuring The candidate will reports to: Regional Director of Administration (who manages all paralegals firmwide) . Assist Attorneys representing Debtors, Creditors, and Creditor Committees in large chapter 11 restructuring cases, including but not limited to preparing/drafting basic documents such as, SoFAs, fee applications, disclosure statements, and plans of reorganization. Assist in analyzing due diligence materials regarding all aspects of a company's business operations. Assist with the preparation and filing of petitions, resolutions, first day pleadings; draft; Bluebook, cite check, research and update precedent in first and second-day pleadings filed. Correspond with clients, creditors and other interested parties regarding case issues. Collate information and exhibits for motions, applications, notices, memoranda, proofs of claim. Preparation of quarterly fee applications. Assist with the preparation of monthly fee statements and maintain professional fee spreadsheets. Review and edit documents and exhibits, charts and diagrams. Maintain case calendars and working group lists. Work closely with other practice groups and offices on matters related to restructuring or other related paralegal work. Other tasks and projects as needed The candidate should have 4- year college degree in any discipline. Must have 5+ years experience as a Corporate Restructuring/Bankruptcy Paralegal.Degree or certificate in Paralegal Studies is a plus Prior working experience in the bankruptcy group of a law firm representing debtors and creditors in complex chapter 11 and chapter 7 cases is essential. Must have familiarity with local rules of various courts; coordinate with other professionals and client to obtain and analyze due diligence materials in preparation of exhibits and documents to be included as part of the filing material. Knowledge of Bankruptcy Court procedures and practices. Expertise in CM/ECF and PACER filing system is essential. Must have experience with overseeing all aspects of electronic discovery. Must have strong e-filing experience. Strong research and investigative skills. Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.). Strong computer and software skills (LexisNexis, Westlaw, etc.) is essential. Must have excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and coordinate work. Excellent verbal and written communication skill is essential. Familiarity with federal, state and local rules/filing procedures is preferred.
