Legal Secretary Qualifications: The candidate will type, edit, e-File pleadings and compose correspondence, including letters, memoranda and other documents. Update and maintain databases (i.e. e-mail lists, I-Create info, client matter lists, tickler and matter lists). Interact with clients, visitors and attorneys/staff from other Hinshaw offices via phone, e-mail and in-person. Open new files, check conflicts of interest and maintain all client and general files. Make appointments and travel arrangements; maintain calendar and deadline reminder system. Ensure attorney timesheets are complete and assist the billing department in processing monthly client invoices. Maintain professional appearance and attitude; maintain good public relations and customer service with clients; and maintain the confidentiality of attorney-client relationships. Qualifications: The candidate should have 5+ years of experience as a litigation secretary. Knowledge of consumer financial services litigation is a plus as is experienced with current local, state, and federal court filing requirements. Must have significant experience with Texas and Louisiana court procedures. Working knowledge and experience in e-filing in both state and federal court systems, including, Texas and Louisiana courts. Proficiency in running conflicts, file opening and closing, billing, and running files through online/web-based systems for managing cases (such as CounselLink, Serengeti Legal Tracker, and/or Ascent), is necessary. Must have excellent organizational and communications skills, be detail-oriented, and able to prioritize their workload. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail, strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills, and the ability to interact effectively and professionally with management, staff, and external entities including clients of the firm. Should possess a minimum typing speed of 65 words per minute, be proficient in and have knowledge of relevant software applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook), must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, and consistently produce a high-quality work product
