Associate Attorney The candidate will handle litigation practice primarily focusing in the areas of Federal and State criminal defense, commercial litigation, and personal injury. Will negotiate cases with opposing counsel/party representative, participate in depositions, make Court appearances for hearings and related matters, explain legal issues to clients, etc. Must be Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas and in good standing with the State Bar Association; and licensed to practice in Federal Court Southern District of Texas. 2+ years of experience as an attorney is preferred. Must have excellent writing skills. Associate will be responsible for drafting motions, legal briefs, case summaries, deposition summaries, memorandums of law and marketing materials for the firm. Must have excellent verbal communication skills. Ability to efficiently perform legal research. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Lexis Advance and ability to efficiently learn and use firm s other computer software. Must be detail-oriented and able to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines. Have a positive attitude and be team oriented. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
