OD Comply Attorney The candidate will maintain and draft accurate, up-to-date, reader-friendly 50-state and major locality surveys on background check, leave, and wage and hour laws and processes. Analyze and advise clients on background check and e-signature compliance; wage and hour and leave law issues; reduction in force (RIF) compliance, including federal, WARN and state mini-WARN issues, disparate impact analysis, and severance agreements. Draft leave law policies and handbooks. Provide compliance advice and counsel on various employment law issues, including ADA, FMLA, Title VII, etc. Analyze/research various employment law questions (e.g., ADA, FMLA, and Title VII). Investigate, analyze, and prepare responsive position statements related to EEOC/state agency discrimination charges, including associated mediations. Draft blog posts and other public-facing articles on background checks, e-signature, state leave laws, and state wage and hour topics. The candidate must have a Juris Doctor, be and remain licensed to practice law and be in good standing in the state of employment. Must have 2+ years of experience practicing labor & employment law, either for a law firm or in-house. Exceptional legal research skills; excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; clear, informative, and succinct writing style; superior proofreading skills; excellent presentation skills; Flexibility to travel as necessary (limited travel). Must be personable and project confidence and credibility to colleagues and clients. Must be able to collaborate with other team members to advance the firm's goals. Must meet requirements for continuing licensure for law practice.
