Immigration Paralegal Responsibilities: Preparing and filing all USCIS forms and draft supporting legal letters for all types of visas/applications/petitions. Assisting and support attorneys in the preparation and filing of immigration applications, including immigrant visa petitions, applications for permanent residency, naturalization applications, including PERMs, Preference Petitions, and Adjustment of Status Applications. Liaising with relevant government agencies including USCIS, ICE, CBP, US Department of State, and US Department of Labor. Analyze, review and organize documents and data from materials produced; and, prepare/coordinate document production and responses to requests for evidence. Preparing job descriptions. Assist attorney with gathering evidence, preparing declarations and supporting documents, preparing evidence and exhibits, and complying with procedural requirements, and filing deadlines for cases in the Immigration Court. Assisting and supporting attorneys in obtaining civil and criminal court records for immigration matters. Analyzing and reviewing case details to determine future actions. Preparing responses to audit requests. Demonstrating strategic thinking and initiative with regard to case assignments; identifying and resolving delays in the process. Entering time records. Creating new files and updating client matter reports. Addressing client case status inquiries; including processing remaining steps in filing, processing times, and consular appointment issues. Conducting ongoing case tracking and management. Qualifications: An Associate Degree. A Bachelor's Degree is a plus. Paralegal Certificate an asset. Ability to manage client relationships for high-volume clients and complex projects under short deadlines. Strong attention to detail. Proficiency with various technology platforms, including Office 2013 and Tracker. Strong organizational and project management skills. Initiative, team orientation, and professionalism. Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional writing skills.
