Labor Litigation Paralegal Duties: Prepare legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, contracts, etc. Prepare affidavits of documents and maintain document file by ensuring proper indexing and filing of original leading documents. Attend meetings with clients to determine factual issues and possible documentation sources. Maintain and monitor case calendar. Assist attorneys in document review and organization. Identify electronic sources for collection of electronic discovery from clients; coordinate collection of electronic files; analyze the nature and volume of data to be collected; and determine the platform that will be utilized for review of the data in the discovery process. Track document productions in assigned cases. Research and analyze law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes. Assist in the presentation of electronic exhibits, assist in tracking of trial exhibits, coordinate witness appearances and serve as a key contact with court personnel in the logistics of the trial process. Prepare notices and subpoenas; summarize/index transcripts; prepare witness files; select and assemble potential deposition exhibits; attend and take notes at depositions. Assist in preparing discovery requests and responses; summarize responses from other parties. Requirements: Paralegal certificate, related experience, or degree preferred. 5+ years of law firm litigation experience with strong knowledge of e-discovery tools and software, document management and trial preparation. Highly motivated with a strong work ethic. Possess exceptional attention to details. Ability to work independently. Strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to interact with a diverse group of professionals. Must be able to perform all essential duties.
