Litigation Paralegal The candidate should be an experienced litigation paralegal/legal assistant with a strong work ethic, integrity and attention to detail. Will work closely with the attorneys, case managers and other staff to assist in developing client cases and preparing for settlement or trial. Duties include: Routinely communicate with clients who have suffered severe injury or a tragic loss; Assist in creating and organizing settlement brochures; Assist in drafting pleadings, discovery and discovery responses; File and serve pleadings, discovery and discovery responses; Call providers on any urgent records requests to get expedited; Interact positively and efficiently with opposing counsel and staff; Use good judgment to discern what issues may be urgent and need an attorneys attention; Manage electronic and paper client files; Report to trial attorney; Handle communications with expert witnesses; Schedule and calendar client meetings, depositions, mediations, trial dates, etc. High School Diploma or equivalent needed. Minimum 45 WPM typing speed required. Excellent telephone, communication, and active listening skills essential. Should have ability to work well with others as a team. Multi-tasking skills and the ability to work well under pressure. Problem analysis and problem-solving skill essential. Must have ability to maintain client confidentiality at all times. Must have some college, technical School or a Bachelor's degree, personal injury or medical background and reads, writes and speaks Spanish. 2 years of experience required. High school or equivalent desired. Paralegal Certificate preferred. Spanish desired.
