Entry level Legal Secretary The candidate will be responsible for performing specifically-delegated administrative legal work. Maintain incoming documents, bates label, index, scan; keep all indexes updated for documents, depositions, deposition exhibits, witnesses; keep track of subpoenas sent out and responses received; keeping files organized; document production to opposing parties; create and maintain notebooks (motion, deposition, exhibit, trial etc.); maintain file rooms; provide backup secretarial coverage (phones, mail, invoices, check requests); miscellaneous: stock copy area, scan file locations, deliver morning and afternoon mail, calendar, etc. Must have 1+ years law firm experience. Must be able to handle non-routine situations, problems and deviations; must use independent judgment and initiative to determine approach or action to take in non-routine situations. Should have Basic Legal Secretarial experience (including transcription, calendaring and scheduling). Requires strong computer skills with 60+ WPM. Must have professional interpersonal & communication skills; communicate effectively with Attorneys and other professionals.
