Associate Attorney The candidate will be assisting in all aspects of civil litigation relating to discrimination and wage theft, including developing new cases; assisting in legal research; interviewing potential witnesses and clients; drafting pleadings and discovery demands; and engaging in motion practice, trials, and appeals. Managing client intakes related to discrimination and wage theft. Preparing state and federal pleadings. Calendaring litigation timelines and managing logistics for depositions, oral arguments, court hearings, and other events. Filing administrative complaints. Filing FOIA requests and assisting on related litigation matters. Developing and maintaining client relationships with impacted individuals. The candidate should have a J.D. degree and admission to the New York Bar. Should have 1-2 years of litigation experience, although we are willing to train the right candidate with a demonstrated commitment to the issues we work on. Outstanding research, writing, and analytical skills. A demonstrated ability to write and to speak clearly, effectively, and persuasively. Outstanding time management and organizational skills, with careful attention to detail. A demonstrated ability to perform well independently and with grace under pressure in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment. A collaborative and collegial approach to work, and an ability and desire to work in a team-based environment.
