Executive Legal Secretary The candidate will provide high-level support to the Partner-in-Charge of the Firm with an active litigation practice in the areas of health care and medical malpractice. Support additional attorneys in a well-balanced assignment. Utilize strong organizational and communication skills as well as attention to detail to assure projects and assignments are completed accurately, efficiently and productively. Compile information and prepares reports and correspondence based on verbal instructions and perform research on various administrative subject matters. Handle highly-sensitive information with discretion and diplomacy related to legal, business, financial and administrative matters and maintain client and firm confidentiality at all times. Maintain calendar/meeting schedule including related document preparation and meeting setups. Type, edit and file (and at times composes) correspondence, administrative reports, pleadings and other documents. Open new files, checks conflicts of interest and maintains client and administrative files. Handle time entry and billing, working closely with billing and collections personnel.
The candidate must have 5+ years of litigation experience at a national law firm in the practice areas of health care and medical malpractice including thorough knowledge of courts and processes, a strong comfort level handling e-filing, and 2+ years of experience supporting a partner with administrative management responsibility within a national law firm. Should be proficient in relevant software programs including Microsoft Office 2010 (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint). Experience with iManage, e-Time, Intapp Open and Chrome River.
