Legal Secretary (Litigation) Duties: Responsible for document preparation, editing; file maintenance and client billing. Support up to five timekeepers, performing time entry duties, electronic court filings in both state and federal courts, preparing pleadings, and processing mail. Interact with clients, both in person and over the phone. Make travel arrangements and prepare and submit expense reimbursements. Handle administrative confidential/sensitive firm and/or client information. Duties may be ongoing or ad-hoc in nature. Other duties as may be assigned to fully meet the requirements of the position.
Qualifications: The candidate must have 5+ years Litigation experience in a mid to large sized law firm and be proficient in legal secretarial and administrative tasks including, document preparation, filing, time entry, expenses, telephone contact, travel arrangements and calendar maintenance. Must be proficient in both federal and state court rules. Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize, work independently, and multi-task a must. Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and excellent client service. Must be proficient in MS Word, Outlook (including utilization of styles and pleading formatting), Excel and PowerPoint; must exhibit strong typing skills and have the ability to learn and quickly become proficient in new computer software programs. Excellent written and oral communication and solid organizational skills. Should also be detail oriented, able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, have the ability to prioritize incoming/outgoing tasks and work effectively independently and within a team.
