Legal Secretary The candidate will work with excellent attorneys who handle a full range of cases, including commercial, tort, employment, etc., as well as appeals in federal and state appellate courts. Will support a group of litigators that need customary support work, including: Transcribing dictation, Scheduling depositions, hearings, and other proceedings, Helping the attorneys prepare for daily litigation tasks, Handling court filings and becoming familiar with court s and firm s e-filings, Entering the attorneys time and assistance with billing, Scanning documents for preservation in the firm s e-filing system. Calendaring deadlines. Help with travel arrangements and reimbursement of expenses. Formatting and filing appellate briefs and large motions. Should have 10+ years of legal secretary experience and 5+ years of experience in litigation in a law firm. Should have strong computer skills, including styles, table of contents and keyboard short cuts. Experience filing in all federal and state courts is essential. Appellate experience is a plus. Should have great proofreading skills. Excellent Microsoft Word Skill is essential.
