Legal Secretary The candidate will assist attorney(s) through the performance of complex secretarial and clerical duties. Will contact clients for scheduling appointments to meet attorneys. Maintains individual attorney s calendar. Monitors budget, submits expense reimbursements, attorney time entry. Documentation and Review. Provides documentation production services (typing and transcription). Proofreads all documents created by attorney or self. Reviews all attorney bills. Provides document copies to clients as needed. Opens and screens incoming mail. Prepares documents for mailing. Communication and Clerical. Screens incoming calls, clients and visitors. Maintains files and all other general administrative tasks. Delegates workflow and areas needing assistance to word processing. Retrieves files when requested. The candidate must be an experienced bilingual Litigation Legal Secretary. Should preferably have 2 years of legal secretary experience in a small to mid-sized law firm preferable with a personal injury and/or medical malpractice law firms. Previous litigation experience is preferred. Must have professionally proficiency in both English and Spanish with excellent grammar, spelling and punctuation in each language. Proficiency with Outlook, MS Word, Excel and preferably Aderant Total Office is required. Must have proficiency with automated equipment, including transcription equipment and dictation. Must have heavy typing and transcription skills with minimum typing speed of 60 WPM. Must have knowledge of legal terminology, legal process and e-filing. Associates or Bachelors degree is required.
