itigation Paralegal The candidate join litigation department. Essential duties of this position include assisting attorneys in case management throughout all phases of litigation, pre-trial investigation and discovery, such as gathering documents and evidence, preparing trial notebooks, organizing and reviewing documents and creating chronology of facts using litigation support software (i.e.: Relativity, TextMap, Trial Director, etc.), file documents in both state and federal courts and prepare e-filing when appropriate, work with docketing department to manage docketing calendar, including hearing dates and filing deadlines, respond to attorney requests for assistance, in cite checking factual and legal research, research and obtain records from various sources, prepare and organize exhibits, create document indices, manage document intensive files in preparation for trials, hearings and court filings, act as a liaison between trial team, and third parties such as witnesses, clients, vendors, experts, and courtroom personnel, coordinate trial and hearing logistics, prepare transcript designation, for use in trial, among other related duties. Other skills required are ability to work under pressure on time-sensitive projects excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills, ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment. Should have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with all levels of personnel. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook. In-depth knowledge of electronic research technology (LexisNexis, Westlaw, Internet, etc.) is required. Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish). Will possess a Bachelor degree or paralegal certificate from an ABA approved paralegal program or an equivalent combination of education and experience in Litigation. 5 years of Litigation experience is required.
