This mid size Orlando office maintains a full service civil law practice. The is organized into the following areas: litigation, health law, communications and media, employment and labor, tax, personal planning and employee benefits, securities and public offering, real estate, and business and corporate office. Legal Secretary Duties: Format and file briefs, pleadings, and other legal documents in state, federal courts, and administrative agencies. Prepare table of contents and table of authorities. Read, route and follow-up on correspondence. Prepare engagement letters. Assist with opening of new client matters. Create and maintain hard copy and electronic files. Enter attorney time into time entry system. Review and edit billing proforma narratives. Provide professional telephone coverage at attorney's request. Schedule appointments and maintain attorney calendar. Assist with hotel and travel arrangements. Prepare electronic expense reimbursement requests and submit invoices for payment. Proficient in using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other online research tools to conduct legal research. Review and prepare documents for document productions. Requirements: High School diploma or general education degree (GED); and 4+ years of related experience. E-filing experience; proficient in local jurisdictional and federal court rules and procedures. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to quickly proof documents and pleadings. Outstanding attention to detail, flexibility and persistence. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects to meet tight deadlines. Self-motivated to achieve excellence in individual and team endeavors. Ability to type a minimum of 60 WPM with high level of accuracy. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Experience with NetDocs or other document management system and DTE or other time entry software.
