Public Law Paralegal The candidate will assist attorneys in various public finance matters by providing a supportive role in the work required; in drafting and organizing various documents related to public finance transactions, including bond financing transactions, such as preparing drafts of preliminary election proceedings and improvement district proceedings; drafting closing certificates and opinions; compiling and assembling closing transcripts, and drafting and processing general obligation bond transactions. Responsible for various administrative and support roles such as managing databases and assisting with the preparation of proposals; willingness and ability to support the needs of both internal and external clients while performing these and other critical functions: Assist in drafting and reviewing routine legal documents in Microsoft Word. Draft closing documents from start to finish, including resolutions, form filings, research and statistics compilation, and closing certificates and opinions. Manage the copying, uploading, and distribution of draft and final executed documents to interested parties, by Outlook E-mail, Firmex virtual document room, and/or Federal Express, as appropriate. Act as liaison with the client and any outside entities such as government agencies, corporations, vendors, and other law firms to facilitate the transaction. Conduct final page-checking of final documents and final document transcripts. Draft closing checklists. Assist in closings by preparing, collecting from various transaction participants, assembling closing files, DTC letters, final resolutions and opinions, good-standing certificates, and secretary of state filings, and managing or facilitating the pre-closings and closings. Prepare and distribute the closing transcripts to interested parties and transaction participants, including uploading closing transcript to virtual document room, preparing paper copies, and/or copying to disc or thumb drive, as appropriate. A review of executed documents to ensure proper execution. Follow up with client and other parties to the transaction to ensure delivery of complete documentation required for closing binders. Should preferably have a Bachelor's degree and signed and paralegal certificate is highly preferred with 3-5 years of relevant experience is required, be a self-starter and possess the ability to work independently; organizational and communication skills while displaying a positive, high-energy attitude.
