This firm is often at the top of the list of prominent Boston law firms. Large and growing, these lawyers are well-connected throughout the Boston area, and are looking to increase the reach of their influence. With beautiful offices (that seem to go on and on...) the lawyers here are generally quite happy with their practice. Why? At the associate level, lawyers are given a bit more responsibility than your average law firm lawyer, and depending on the practice group, given quite solid training and structured mentoring. Although the partners are increasingly conscious of the billable hours of their associates, they are generally accessible. In particular, several of the litigation partners bring in high level litigation work and remain very involved throughout to monitor and guide the associates participation.
Patent Paralegal The candidate will support the patent prosecution attorneys with all aspects of preparing US and foreign patent filings. Will assist with drafting and filing IDS forms, PCT forms and direct national filing papers. Obtain formalities, communicate with foreign patent associates, the US PTO and World Intellectual Property Organization regarding patent status. Prepare reporting and other relevant correspondence to clients. Track patent deadlines. Collaborate with patent attorneys/docketing team to ensure deadlines are met. The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience working as a paralegal supporting patent prosecution attorneys. Experience with all aspects of preparing US and foreign patent filings is required. Must have the ability to juggle multiple assignments and deadlines simultaneously, and work as a member of a team. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential, as there will be frequent contact with clients and attorneys. Experience with CPI is preferred.
