Paralegal/Legal Assistant Candidate will uphold a high standard of professionalism with regard to demeanor and appearance, a high standard of integrity with regard to privileged information, maintains a positive outlook, and who has the ability to work independently. Must be: A California Notary (or be willing to become one). An Enrolled Agent (or be willing to become one). Experience in the formation and ongoing maintenance of corporations, limited liability companies and limited partnerships a plus. Able to take direction and work independently with minimal supervision Calendar management experience (using Outlook). Able to manage a high frequency of emails and phone calls. Management of client files and information. Strong organization and time-management skills with attention to detail. Must have excellent writing and verbal skills as the paralegal has substantial client interaction. Proficient knowledge of the following software programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. WestLaw a plus. TimeSlips a plus. WordPerfect working knowledge preferred. Experience with and understanding of the probate courts, probate processes and procedures, and probate filings. Knowledge of basic estate planning, and experience with drafting Wills, Revocable Trusts, Irrevocable Trusts, Durable Powers of Attorney, Advance Health Care Directives and related estate planning documents. Understanding of the trust administration process and experience reviewing trusts, working with clients to gather information, and organizing the information received. Proficient in deed preparation and assessor forms, paying close attention to avoid reassessment of property tax.
